The Neighbourhood House Coordination Program - Building self-reliant and inclusive communities. This budget submission proposes six reforms. Each individual reform will deliver benefits to Victorian communities, either by increasing participating and volunteering opportunities and access to skills development and training, or by supporting Neighbourhood Houses (NHs) to grow to meet additional needs. If all reforms are implemented, they will ensure Neighbourhood Houses’ ongoing capacity to provide real opportunities for economic and social participation, delivering a targeted, sustainable platform for integrated and innovative responses to individual and community need, and a sound basis for government investment. Importantly, these reforms will strengthen Neighbourhood Houses’ capacity for collaboration and partnership, delivering on the government’s vision for integrated services that focus not on problems and programs but on people and place.
