Does you House/Centre provide Tax Help?

Does your House/Centre provide Tax Help? Would you like claiming reimbursements to be made easier?

Community Information Victoria (CIVic) is leading a campaign to advocate for the Australian Tax Office (ATO) to improve reimbursements for organisations that offer the Tax Help service: specifically for the ATO to introduce a standardised reimbursement rate to replace the current, labour intensive process for claiming the reimbursement of expenses associated with providing this service (e.g. phone calls, envelopes & stamps, printing, printer cartridges, etc.).

As it costs agencies to deliver the Tax Help service, CIVic would like to see cost-recovery streamlined and the administrative burden reduced. Standardised reimbursement rates would vary depending on whether a paper or electronic return was completed (no printing required for a paper-based return as forms are provided). Example only: $3.00 per e-return and $1.50 per paper return.

If your House/Centre supports these proposed reforms, please let ANHLC know ASAP and we will add our voice to CIVic’s advocacy efforts in this area. Email anhlc@anhlc.asn.au
